North Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board
| |
About our partnership board
The Board works to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in North Lancashire.
The board listens to adults with learning disabilities and their carers and asks for their views about the development of local services.
The board holds meetings every two months for people with learning disabilities, family carers, professionals and organisations across our community. A County Councillor chairs the Board and a self advocate who has a learning disability co-chairs.
Together we aim to make sure that good support and services across the community are being developed and improved for people with learning disabilities and their carers. This will include specialist and universal services which are services for everyone.
The board provides feedback every year in the form of a self assessment. These are shared locally, regionally and nationally and can be found on the Ihal website.
The key priorities of the Board are:
Health
Housing
Employment
Friends and Relationships
Keeping Safe
Self advocacy meetings happen across the area to hear what people with a learning disability have to say about things that are important to them. Self advocates are involved in the Partnership Board and task groups
